I'm kind of interested in why this idea is just starting now. With your skill level, art diversity, and amount of fans, haven't you considered this earlier? Has it been you been too busy with finishing school and doing like 80 comics at once? I'm guessing probably.
anyway, you could get more money than if you didn't try out commissions, so I say go for it!
I say your work is worth commissioning if you want to. And I'll also admit I'm one of the cheap ones who can't pay but if I had enough money to spare I wouldn't mind buying something from you just as support for your talent.
I voted no because I'm saving up to live in apartment, therefor I have no money for such a luxury. Maybe if I got a little extra, I'd be like "Sure why not" But it really depends where I am financially.
But there are tons of people who watch you who would be like "OMG COMMISIONS"
I think you should open a slot of ten and see how many people are like "YES" as a trial round, and depending on that, go for the decision.
I will be honest..no. But that´s my answer for any artist. I´m very afraid of the business in net. Is not like if I don´t trust you, but if my money can´t reach you? Besides, you aren´t interested in euros for sure...
Eh, s'awright. Though it's partially cos of no means of paying, I never really like to bother people with requests and the like. Especially paying them money to draw something they aren't so keen about.
Haha, it's a bit of a vague answer system.. like maybe the ones that said "nahh" are saying no because they assume they don't have the money and can't promise you they'd commission anything.
To be honest, I went with no because I never found paying someone for a drawing to be that.. I don't know.. interesting? There are definitely many that do that as a habit, and I'm sure you got plenty of watchers like that - but I'd personally just.. I don't know, I'd be more prone to trading drawings. In the end, the only way you can make a profit is if you charge a lot of money. And that could easily lose a lot of takers.
You should just do it as a fun experiment though! Maybe it can challenge you!
I wouldn't mind commissioning you.^^ I love supporting fellow artists and fortunately I can use paypal. As for the price...I'm not sure. O_O I agree with *BlazeTBW--it depends on what you have to offer. Like...full coloured-works...or just character art (coloured or maybe some lineart?)...or even just sketches.
I think the best thing I can say about that is charge what you feel is right...How much do you think your hard work is worth? How much time would it normally take to complete something? And out of your own free time? But yet...you don't want to be too pricey either.
I'm not really sure what else I can say...but I hope it goes well should you decide to go through with this. ^^
But yeah man where did you hear of Paypal being a pain to deal with? It's one of the most easiest and reliable forms of online payment you can get out there. It's just that many of the young people here on DA don't have a credit card and would usually have to rely on their parent's to open an account for them - but even doing that would be a tough call and would involve some serious discussions first between family.
Hmm...This sounds interesting...XD Wow! Just pictured Rainbow in your style!XD She'd probably look better the way you draw!XD But then again you've been drawing longer than me...But I feel I'm not far away from getting better in my art.^_^ And looking at the different styles you have, really helps!^_^
And...I'd love to pay but...Sadly I'm focused on buying other things right now...But maybe later!^_^
Cheers for the honest feedback. And yes it would be cool to if I got paid for something that I enjoy doing but it's really tough when it comes to buying materialistic goods (the 'wants' like artwork in tough economics times.
I believe it's going to be a no-go for most people here but I'll have to keep my options open nevertheless in future. ^^
