Interview with DJ Max-E - Sunday, 3pm GMT via SSR!

The Masters of Animated Sonic Funnies - Sonic Paradox

(To be updated after DJ Max-E's interview, i.e. 30th February 2010)

DJ Darkspeeds will be interviewing the legendary leaders and founders of Sonic Paradox: TheWax & Bit-Master
at 3pm GMT, Sunday, 07th March 2010. If you didn't notice already TheWax has his very own deviantART account right here ---> :iconthewax:

Questions to TheWax & Bit-Master from the fans are welcome (just send me a note or post your questions here on this journal entry) - just do me this kind favour: DON'T ASK WHEN VOLUME 06 & 07 are out!! (TheWax said so - he gets 3 e-mails daily regarding that inquiry! Peace! *thumbs up*)

The Master Of Remixes - DJ Max-E (23rd February 2010)

Listen I know there are hundreds of talented music composers/remixers out there in the online video gaming community - heck why don't you check out the infamous OC Remix community for a start? But out of the many out there I feel that there is this one guy who really stands out when it comes to a really good remix in video games music.

He goes by the name of MaxieDaMan (or otherwise DJ Max-E, I'll be using that name for the interview). Do me a favour and listen to one of his albums (whether it be Street Fighter or Sonic the Hedgehog) and listen carefully to how much detail there is to his composition and how much 'umph' there is to his style.

This guy's humble when it comes to music making, because he doesn't really advertise himself a lot (not that he needs to) and he keeps giving. What I mean by 'giving' is that he uses his spare time to be inspired and make great music for all of those who would like to listen to a reinterpretation of an old school tune from their favourite video game series (his portfolio include tracks from JetSetRadio, SuperSmashBrothersMelee, Starfox, and the occasional non-video gaming related tracks such as Michael Jackson & Beyoncé).

I picked him for an interview because I feel that his talent needs to be recognised further by the vast Sonic the Hedgehog community that I've been hanging around with for many years. His 'Sonic the Hedgehog' remixes range from the classic Sonic 18-bit era to the more recent series like Sonic Advance and Sonic Riders.

I didn't have the luxury of listening to every single track he has composed but after chillaxing to a few of his tracks from the COMPLETE albums (i.e. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Sonic 2 & Knuckles) I was taken away to paradise in an instant - especially when you start off with something like Tropical Extinction (Angel Island Zone). It's bliss I tell ya... Anyways here's a snapshot of his Sonic 3 & Knuckles REMAXED album:

Do take your time to sample his music. I guarantee you'll be impressed by at least one or two of his tracks (if not all!).

So yeah there's much more I can say about this guy but that can be saved for the interview that is held at 28th SUNDAY 2010. It's going to be another live 2 hour show with yours truly as I go and ask him all kinds of question that will intrigue those who are fans of DJ Max-E's works.

What time will this interview be happening on the Sunday you say? Make that 3pm GMT. If you're confused about the time zones check out the image below for your allocated start time. Click on the logo to take yourself to the DJ Darkspeeds archive of shows and exclusive interviews (e.g. Jose' The Bronx Rican of OC Remix, Psyguy of Fireball20XL.com, Mike Pollock - the voice of the current Dr. Eggman etc...)

In addition there are instructions below on how you can tune in to DJ Darkspeeds via SEGASonic Radio on Sunday:

To LISTEN (to the show) and CHAT in the IRC chat room at the same time all you have to do is click on the pic above you. Let bmn do the rest. Be sure to bookmark the link for future reference!

Simple right? I thought so.

Now if YOU got questions for DJ Max-E about his work post them here (as in my journal) and I'll select the ones I feel deserve a mention on the show.

Catch you all live on Sunday evening my time! ;)

Kind regards,

Elson 'Darkspeeds' Wong

P.S. Also check out DJ Max-E's Sonic the Hedgehog 2 remix album, it's a trip back to memory lane I tells ya! (Try Sonic 2 Remix - Sonic Special Grand Prix, you'll be creamin' your pants over that one).
