Just a quick snapshot of my second semester at the Academy of Art university!

The four classes I'm taking are:

i) Human Anatomy (upgrade from Figure Drawing last semester)
ii) Still Life Painting (seriously AWESOME fun! I love oil painting now!)
iii) Cloth Figure Drawing (that lecturer reminds me of Jack McBrayer! Seriously! XD)
iv) Perspective (you can see my homework progress on the last 4 photos)

So far all of my lecturers have been nothing short of impressive. They're passionate, exceptional in their technique and wonderful teachers.

On my previous semester I gained a high B average which is not easy to get in any art school, so I'm really proud of that. :D Nevertheless let's see how I go with this semester, because this is going to be my last one too. More on the why in future - but for now let's make the very most out of it! ;)

My new oil paint set!! After Sheldon's demo in class I kind fell in love and just went for it! The next set of photos will show you what I did in 40 minutes.

Grrrr!!! I'm all fired up in red!!

And viola! A kettle and mug in grayscale! Seriously this was a lot of fun! I'm going to have to do this when I get back to Australia. And we didn't even work on colours yet! Imagine what we can do when we level up to colours!! I can't wait.

Sheldon gracefully demonstrating Acrylic - the second part of the demo (the first being Oils). He's such a lovely instructor, love his pacing and willingness to help his students learn as much as possible in class.

Look it's Jack McBrayer's cousin! He almost had the same accent I swear! XXD Super talented at illustration this instructor, not one to mess around when it comes to clothed drawing in class!

Very cute, especially the ballerina dancing! Nevertheless out homework for Clothed Figure Drawing class is to draw the 4 sacks in a particular pose to determine the MASS and VOLUME of each action you've chosen. If you want to do some exercises yourself (which will greatly improve your drawings of characters) go check out this link.

Leandro's quick demo - amazing how he whipped this up real quick while explaining what we need to do for homework!

I like this one alot! Reminds me of Sly Cooper! Oh and check out the F's - they DO exist!! Remember this class is all about how well you know about Perspective, so even if you're not strong on your drawing skill and details you can still get a passing mark if you understand the concept (like the Superman/Robot/Lady drawings). But, as always in art school, try to aim even higher than you can expect!

I also liked this one out of all of the student works presented from last semester (the one with the chooks). He/she did a great job with the line quality AND line separation. Notice how there are three levels of perspective?

My current set up if I'm not using the Cintiq 21UX. Just working on my Perspective homework... Drawing drunk cats in a Speakeasy setting... Hmmmmmm....

And to leave you guys with one last thing... Elson's thinking of bagels. *ba-da-tish!*

Seeing this makes me wish I studied at your school. You've got some really cool homework there. My comic arts teacher in college was a clueless, obsolete nobody. I learned nothing from him, which is partly why I dropped out.
