Description
Boy am I really super proud of myself today.
Spent the past 8 hours working on this FINAL PAGE to the 'Sonic Art Collection' magazine.
I have no shame in saying that I had to utilise official stock imagery from Capcom and trace over some elements to save me a bundle of time for the Megaman X characters. But yeah I tweaked a few bits and pieces, applied stuff I learnt from Graphic Design - composition/typography/photo manipulation etc... to create this final piece de resistance!
I didn't get the opportunity to do actual Archie Sonic comic ads in the magazine so I decided to save my energy and finish it with a bang - and an unexpected one too!
Oh you guys didn't know I played this game series before? I LOVE Megaman X4 - the music's awesome too!
Rock on everyone, let's see if Paul will make this a possibility one day with his creative team... Ha ha! I know Ian's would love to write a comic based off this series.
(Also! You may be wondering why 'Rockman' instead of 'Megaman'? Uhm... How about why not? lol Honour the original I say! It's also a nice way to differentiate from the already popular Megaman comic series - an alternate universe to it would be... Rockman! Ha ha! Oh okay I had my fun, it's just my opinion and I'm sure many of you would disagree with me but hell I have no time to state my case further - enjoy and uhm.... TIME TO PARTY!!! WOOO! ^_________^) *Elson goes off to the printers to print the magazines in the morning*
EDIT:
And just before anyone jumps the gun, I'd say the biggest problem with this page is the amount of TEXT on page!! Too much of it! X_X; Argh this kills the negative space needed to complete a more fluid composition to the piece! So yeah that's my gripe for this page - too much clutter! However I did need to use all of the information to give people a clear idea on what this ad is all about - some fans will easily decode it but if we cater for the majority they won't know that it's a new comic series being made by Archie Comics and that it's approved by Capcom!
