Port Salvamento (INKED) by darkspeeds Port Salvamento (INKED) by darkspeeds
:bulletyellow: Penciled Original darkspeeds.deviantart.com/art/…

I got a lot of good feedback from students and my instructor on this drawing. Here's an opportunity to practice and impress yourself and your friends of your COLORING & RENDERING skills! I would LOVe to see this colored and if you plan to do it feel free to get rid of the notes below the image for a more clean and transparent presentation! ;)

Dude! Go for it! I can't wait to see it done! And take your time - treat it as an exercise to learn new things/improve on your colouring/rendering! ;)

Amazing detail and composition in this piece!! But I can't help but feel like all of your art would go from great to AMAZING if you just created your own characters in your environments, despite your love for sonic.

Hey there Anisa! Ha ha, well I've found my answer after studying at the Academy of Art university (and living abroad in the States).

I've a change of priorities and to obtain that I'll be heading back to Australia after I finish this semester (my second for Illustration major ;)).

The thing is I know I have the technique and potential but the other very important element that I don't have if I were to achieve that AMAZING level of originality in my creativity is 'drive'.

I don't have a strong enough passion to make my art into a career.

My love for art comes from doing it for recreation and that is my answer. Coming here to the states gave me that chance to learn more about myself and my art and I'm thankful for the experiences - and hell I've learnt so much that I can excel in my artwork more than I would if I didn't come over to study here. = )

Also...

Wtfudge?? I didn't know you were studying at the Academy of Art too!! No wonder you developed such a unique style of your own, I'm sensing a Disney/Pixar quality to it. And if you're doing Visual Development that means you've either only just started (because it's a new program) or the fact that you switched majors. What's your story? O.O :D

Well that's great to hear that you've figured yourself out Elson!! Because you do have an incredible talent and so much potential, but even if you don't pursue art as a career you should definitely still try to find time to make some sonic comics then! c:
And Elson....I was in your figure modeling class... xD I'm Anisa. Remember? I am a freshman straight out of high school if you recall :) Thank you for the compliment!! I'm also rather fond of Dreamworks when they get it right C: I'm sorry to hear you are leaving after this semester though, you will be missed!

Looks very beautiful to the last detail! I can tell you planned out how the scenery would look.

May I ask, for the smaller details like on the buildings, did you use a size XS pen?

For the smaller details I used a 005MM Micropen (Sakura brand). The middle ground details were done with 01MM and the emtreme close up items with a 05MM/08MM. ;)

WHOHOHOHOHO!!!  That must have been a VICH to outline that much detail.  Its almost like where's Waldo.  So much fantastic detail.  It almost makes me want to give it a shot at coloring.  it would take so long to do though.  And I don't know if my shading skills would do it justice.  but maybe it would be fun to color someone else s detailed work.
