Dragon-Tail River

This is a rather satisfying result.


I would have to say that this is also a rather colourful piece! I've aimed for a more greenish tan on the overall colour level of this scene to maintain Chu-nan's deep colours of the mountainous river and bamboo forests.


The Koi fish and pink Lili flowers were added in for contrast and an extra level of detail and depth into the foreground scene.

I'm happy with my experimentation of splashing/formaton on the water and how Sonic is blasting through it with his Sonic speed. I also liked how I have contrasted the green colours of the river from a lighter tone in the foreground to a darker tone in the background.

I could do better with the backgrounds but I felt that I needed to focus on my TGAF project and not spend too much time on Sonic fanart. Blurring the BG some more won't really strengthen the details I would have wanted to present to my observers if done without it.


What got my doing this particular piece? Why this scene? Well when I watched that trailer and saw Sonic running on water I said to myself: "I HAVE to do a drawing on that! = )"

(Apologies in advance! I've made a mention earlier when I have submitted the deviation but it didn't appear for some odd reason. X_X;; Luckily I woke up for Tubro's show - only 2 hours after 4AM... I had a nap and woke up and taken note of it!)
